Park County Sheriff's Office Investigates Homicide Following Discovery Near Hartsel

Park County, Colorado – On December 24, 2024, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Park County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check in the 1500 block of Campfire Road near Hartsel, Colorado. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased adult male inside the residence. The incident has been classified as a homicide.

Investigation Details:

  • Assisting Agencies: Due to the complexity of the case, the Park County Sheriff’s Office has enlisted the assistance of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. The latter’s involvement is due to a potential connection to a missing person case.

  • Ongoing Investigation: The investigation is active and ongoing. Authorities have committed to providing public updates as new information becomes available.

  • Victim Identification: The identity of the deceased will be released by the Park County Coroner’s Office following the completion of an autopsy.
